Made by Ashland Leather Company, the Fat Herbie double bifold is as tough, stylish, and imposing as its namesake—a mobster who loomed large in Chicago throughout the ‘50s and ‘60s. Herbert “Fat Herbie” Blitzstein was a legend, known for his tailored silk pinstripes and wiseguy demeanor. The Fat Herbie wallet honors that panache, featuring four full-sized card pockets stitched with Horween Leather’s renowned Chromexcel® leather.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice between Chromexcel® leather in Brown, Crimson Red, Midnight Blue, or Natural. You may also choose Dublin leather in Black. This drop is limited to 62 wallets.
Sought after for its durability, smooth texture, and rich color, Chromexcel® is the original pull-up leather from Chicago-based Horween Leather Company, who has been making it for more than a century. From cured hide to usable leather, Chromexcel® takes nearly a month to produce.
Ashland Leather Company was founded by Dan Cordova and Phil Kalas, two longtime tannery workers. Both work at the Horween Leather tannery during the day, and in their off-hours, they make wallets and other goods with the help of leatherworker Laura Roselle. Using only the finest leather sourced from Horween Leather Company, all products are made in very limited runs in order to focus on their quality and longevity.
